Ancestral Farmhouse
An old stone farmhouse that's been in this humble peasant's family for generations. It's foundations are deep, old stone from far within the Lorim's Gate mountains. It's walls were once worked stone from the same mines patched over the centuries with mortared fieldstone. Its roof is cured wooden shingles on a beam, mudded over with a wash of river clay as a sealant. The oldest space in the house is the basement, a simple room the size of the house above, made of the same stone and supported by arches. That old basement has been a root cellar for the family for near a dozen generations because it is always somehow near freezing temperatures.
That's what it used to be. Before the Adventurers came. Before they ruined his peace with their wrath and greed. After the Wizard came, he just buried his wife and rebuilt his home. When the Minstrel came he battened down his doors and windows with locks. When the Orcs came with their beasts of war? It was then that he fortified and his ancestral farmhouse became The Tower.
