Othranar
General Description
The region was once known as Nathair, back when the Athlassans controlled the lands, it would also include the Middle Kingdom. However, with the Humans occupying the territory, it has been renamed Esterion, which translates to Foreign Lands. Out of respect for the previous rulers, they kept the Ruby as their symbol, something that fuelled the hatred the Forsaken Elves feel for the Humans, they see as squatting on their lands.
The capital, Firima, was once the beautiful stone city of the Athlassans. Now it has fallen into disrepair, now controlled by the Othranar, it has become a city full of wooden structures, its majestic nature has been lost to history.
The Othranar is a collective name for the Humans that call this region home. The Othranar were Humans who fled Voronda, during Theneirous' conquest and were given asylum. Each duchy in this region is controlled by a different type of Human, there's several duchies for the Hellene, Thervingi and Capetian Humans.
The nobles of this land were originally known as the Natharin. [Nath-ah-reen] Now they are known simply as the Othranar Lords.

Theneirous' Conquest

The Athlassans, at the start of Theneirous' first conquest of Heleg Parath, would betray their High King and support the Island Elves conquest. Their actions, however, would foreshadow the destiny of Theneirous' first attempt. This was because the Athlassans, like the conqueror, underestimated the unity of the rest of the empire, so they were easily beaten back and forced to leave their lands for refuge beyond the poisonous Ulairi Swamp.
This would set the stage for the Humans a few years later to settle the land.
Othranar Council:

The Othranar had fled awful violence when Theneirous led his conquest of Voronda. The streets of almost every major city ran with blood. So when they had settled in Heleg Parath, the Lords and Nobles would convene in a council in order to settle the question of leadership in a peaceful manner.
The Council would be interrupted during their deliberations when a small, disunited Forsaken force would arrive on the eastern coast with the hope of retaking their lands. This would force the Othranar into action, and it would unite them. They would agree on an elected leadership like Aquila, yet they would also agree to share the position of power like Bellator. The High Lord would be elected every 7 years, with the banner and gemstone being linked to the palace and the city of Firima. Whoever was elected would take on the title of High Lord of the Othranar. Their first role was to elect one of the Dukes to become the Grand Duke. This was the official deputy of the High Lord and was tasked with representing all of Esterion's Duke's interests when with the High Lord.
There would then be another election during the High Lords mid year. This would be to elect the person to take the seat on the King's Council. The Royal Councillor was seen as an equal to the High Lord, with control of affairs outside of the kingdom of Esterion. A foreign minister, so to speak.
Recent History
Current High Lord:
The Vieras, have never been elected to be High Lord before were once highly respected nobles in Aquila. They made their fortune as silk traders. Their name means Silk Trader. This trade created nasty rumours, that they were descendants of Djinn tribesmen, as the Djinn are known for being expert Silk crafters.
