Filarion Glacier II

General Description

Physical Description

High King Filarion Glacier is very different to his father. Short for a Snow Elf, he stands at 5 foot 6 inches. Unlike other shorter Glaciers, he did not have a broad physique. Instead he was much slimmer, a more athletic build, with less muscles.

He has very dim green eyes, close to the same as the Glaciers, although they are known for more brighter Emerald Green eyes. His short styled silver hair while once stylish on a younger elvish lord, does not suit him as it once did.

Personality

Filarion grew up without his mother, she had long battled with her poor mental health and with the birth of two children she struggled to maintain her mind. She would regularly be in and out of the palace for treatment and even when she was home, she refused to see her children. His father High King Sapthan Glacier, while he tried to father the children, his reunification of the Glacier empire meant he was not around much in Filarion's childhood. It also meant when he died, he left a son ill-prepared to rule.

He is deeply jaded and insecure, from years of abandonment and being left with no one nearby he could trust during the difficult periods of his young life. Filarion is known to hold his own opinion higher than any other person in the room, even when it is subjects he has no knowledge of, or when he is speaking to an expert in their field of knowledge. Filarion Glacier, is the complete opposite of his father both this aspect and also for his lack of respect for the importance of debate.

Filarion could not stand a debate. He viewed it as disrespectful to his authority. He had the view he was there as the holder of the crown, do to one job, rule. He viewed his power as absolute. He viewed the nobles as his own pawns and would not respect their rights of authority, he would gladly overrule a ruling of a noble for a peasants benefit. Just because he could, he didn't care that the noble would like murder the peasant when they left the kings court.

He has a strong dislike for both Alfirin and Calneris Carnen. He believes Alfirin is a snake in the grass, biting each Glacier king with his venomous words. He blames Calneris Carnen for his fathers death. In his view the king shouldn't have led the force against the Titan, Alfirin was wrong to advise it and Calneris was a coward for not leading the force himself.

Personal History

Rebellion Subsided

When Filarion took the throne, he inhabited one of the most capable Kings Councils in the history fo the Glacier Empire. These people that sat on the council had successfully rebuilt the Glacier empire, with only one major revolt. The rest was done through negotiation and diplomacy. When he first joined the Council, the only person he respected was Angardil Culverin, he had been like a father to Filarion. One who had helped raise him, one who had him spend time with his own family as to allow Filarion to experience some sort of family life. So while he would disagree with his steward, he treated him with a respect that none other would ever experience.

After a few years on the throne. He decided he wanted to remove all from the council and start from scratch. Something Angardil advised against but didn't push back on. He did however push back when a source told Angardil, the plan to remove the Carnens from the council, alongside Alfirin and the Elentir. (The source is Galhad captain of the Kings Guard) The steward and the king would argue for days about it. It was only his instance that there would be another revolt if the Carnens were removed . Some say this is why he chose Andriel Carnen for his son's wife, as Andriel was from the middle kingdom branch of the family and they did not like the Othrond branch of their bloodline.

A New Order

While travelling back from a regular meeting with the High King of Elmlock, Angardil was attacked by two towns guards in the city of Seregorn. He would be brutally stabbed while drinking in the Tavern. With the death of his steward Angardil Culverin, in 2E 830ay. He had travelled the Ivy road to prove that after the civil wars end, that Leralethron was safe to travel again.

Magor Culverin, the younger, more devious brother of Angardil had managed to take over as head of the family, as Telcanor was a member of the Elentir it meant the throne should have gone to Talniar Culverin. However shortly after the death of his father, Talniar had gone mad and was forced to be restrained until his mind returned to him. Magor would reluctantly take the throne of the steward.

After two years of being served by the evil Steward Magor Culverin, Filarion would finally have the confidence to revoke the Dukes Right, allowing him to remove Calneris Carnen from the High Council. He also removed him as Ginelsta. He then went onto to remove Alfirin and the Elentirs right to sit on the council.
