Asmodeus is one of the intermediate deities of the Lower Planes, specifically ruling over the Nine Hells of Baator. He is known as the Lord of Lies, and is one of the most powerful fiends in existence. While he does have the power of a intermediate deity, Asmodeus has less deific power than one can imagine. He relies more on his warlocks to spread whatever messages he allows and to preach his teachings. He can grant prayers, but does so very rarely, only doing so when he can either answer the prayer in the worst way possible or for some poetic irony. His divine power mostly comes through his power over other fiends. While this typically takes the form of complete control over any and all devils, he can also take control of the mind and body of any other fiend of his choosing, even horrors of chaos such as demons. He doesn't have complete control over the existence and form of these fiends, but he doesn't need to. Sometimes a simple action from a demon can turn the tide in his favor. Additionally, Asmodeus is a master strategist, having ruled over his Infernal Realm of corrupt politics and constant war with demonic forces since he was young. He is most known for using this intelligence and mental abilities to trick demonlords and lesser demons into performing tasks for him, or even to surrender themselves to their worst enemies.
Asmodeus has an extremely maleable physical form, able to shapeshift into just about anything. However, due to his status as being more of an ascended fiend than a full on deity, everytime he shapeshifts, no matter the form, some of his inner devilishness will spurt forth whenever he visibly shows emotion. When Asmodeus manifests himself to a mortal, he takes the form of a roughly 60 ft tall humanoid figure coated in black and flickering red with three pairs of curved horns. One of these pairs points directly upward, signifying his desire to rise to the Higher Realms and take them as his own. One pair points forwards, representing his relentlessness to accomplish his goals and the power he has to accomplish that. The final pair points backward, representing all those he has turned his back to to get what he wants. A 90 ft. long tail stretches behind him, ending in a large point that constantly shifts from resembling a arrowhead to a knife, both coated in blood. He often wears skin-tight armor etched with numerous lines, many of which form hexagram-like patterns. Large spiked shoulder-pads are always a part of his armor, decorated with demonic and humanoid skulls and encircled by rings of crimson flame. He wears a large crown made of blazing white and red flame stretched between each of his horns. It is believed that the crown is his soul, burnt out of his body at birth by the venom of his draconic father Python. Six tattered wings extend from his back, greatly resembling those of a dragon, with six claw-spikes each. The fabric of the wings is made of billowing crimson flame, and is said to be made of the many souls that made a deal with the devil, and didn't fulfill their part of the bargain.
