The encampment founded to study the White Statue and the settlement which had built up around it was officially recognized as a city. The city was named Minamoto, meaning south base.

The research and military encampment which had been established to study the White Statue and the settlement which had built up around it was officially recognized as a city when the Oniyuri Province was founded. The city was named Minamoto, meaning south base, because it had become something of an anchor for the border between wilderness and blooming civilization with the capital of Noshiro being its northern counterpart.
