Secondary Characters Guide

Secondary Character Creation

Characters are made using rules as written for character generation and begin at max level gor secondaries. This can be any combination of classes or can be a single class which then includes the level 3 Archetype.   Secondary characters begin with equipment based on their level per Character Sheets & Leveling   Once the character has been approved, a bot/alias will be assigned to the player. They are expected to use said alias when RPing with the secondary in order to prevent confusion.   Secondary characters are “live” as of January 1st, 2024

Secondary Character Progression

Secondary characters earn gold only on secondary side quests. Players may not “send” gold from a primary to a secondary.   Secondary characters progress in levels half the rate of primary characters. For example - primary characters hit level 10 in February 2024 and then level 11 in April 2024. Secondary characters leveled to 5 in June 2024 (every 4 months)

Game nights and Assistant Storytellers

Primary game nights will always be on level for primary characters. Secondary characters, outside of largely social premises, should not attend primary game nights as they will get squished.   ASTs (and STs) may run low level quests and will broadcast their suitability for low level characters. Primary characters should not attend secondary quests.

Swapping Primary and Secondaries

Players may swap their character slots if they wish by opening a ticket and submitting a de-leveled character sheet for their current primary and an up leveled for their secondary.   Swapping will be approved by the staff on a case by case basis.   Magical items and gold transfers as follows:
  • Gold: Direct transfer - the balances are traded.
  • Magical items - The new primary gets a number of magical items equal to the amount the old primary had. For example, if the old primary had two rares and three uncommon, the new primary gets that same amount, though the magical items themselves may be different.

    Guidelines for Playing Secondaries

  • Secondary characters should be made in such a way that they do not interact with your primary character.
  • You may not, under any circumstance, play both characters in one scene.
  • Secondary characters should not expect personal plot from storytellers - though ST/ASTs are welcome to run them; simply, the focus is on the primary characters.
  • Magical items may not be traded between Primary and Secondary characters.
