Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Kevan is on the tall and lanky side, built far more for dexterity than pure muscle. He has a somewhat unruly mop of greenish-gold hair, brilliant green eyes, and a remarkably pretty face with a bright, cheerful smile. He sometimes gets an incredibly distant, far-away expression, however, as if his mind is a million miles away.
Apparel & Accessories
When not adventuring, Kevan tends to dress in stylish suits of tweed or other wool, favoring earth tones when possible. When out in the field, he is far more likely to be found in rough clothing like linen shirts, simple leather or wool trousers, and comfortable, easy to remove layers.

Personal history
Kevanath Euthymius Ramsey was born the third son of Count Jacobius Ramsey of Montaigne. Being a younger son, Kevan was mostly left to his own devices, raised more by nannies and tutors than by his own parents. He would often leave the estate grounds to go explore the surrounding villages and countryside, spending most of his time with his siblings, especially his sister Angelica, a year younger than him. She was his closest friend and ally, growing up in such a large but distant family.
It was on one of Kevan's explorations that tragedy struck.
He didn't know that Angelica had followed him as he went to go wander one of the villages. It wasn't until he returned home that he realized his little sister, his best friend, had vanished. Nobody could say where she'd gone, only that she had ventured to the village after Kevan, and hadn't been seen since.
His parents blamed him. His siblings blamed him. Nobody blamed him more than himself, however.
As soon as he turned 16, Kevan left home. He couldn't take the hostility from his family anymore, and what's more, he had a mission. He knew, in his heart, that his beloved sister was still out there somewhere. She couldn't be dead, she couldn't, and Kevan was going to find her.
He searched all of Montaigne, and when that didn't turn up clues, he traveled further afield -- Avalon, Patlov, Castille, all across Europa and even across the Southern Sea into Kemet. In his travels, he discovered a love for history and a talent for adventuring he didn't know he possessed, becoming a leading archaeologist by the age of 21, invited to research and explore across the continent. Still, even as his fame and talent grew, he never forgot his original mission. Ten years on, now, and he's still just as determined to find Angelica as he was the day she disappeared.
Sexuality
Kevan is the epitome of "everyone is hot, what do I do?". He flirts as easily as breathing, but he's never stayed in one place long enough to have more than a handful of dalliances. Real, lasting relationships are completely foreign to him.
Education
Kevan was formally educated as a child and teenager with the best tutors a Montaignese noble could buy. After he left home, he began picking up skills in his travels, sometimes because he was the only person he could reasonably rely on and he had to learn on the spot.
Employment
Kevan is a professional archaeologist and adventurer for hire. He mostly gets hired to do digs and explore ruins, although he's not opposed to other lines of work as well when needed.

Motivation
Kevan's ultimate motivation is to find Angelica. However, he is also driven by a deep curiosity about the world and a desire to keep discovering more of history.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Kevan is an expert historian, a well-trained swordsman, and a talented artist. He is adept at dealing with other people, at least on the surface, charming and smiling his way into or out of many situations.
However, beyond surface level interactions, Kevan finds it difficult to actually get close to people. Between losing Angelica, the blame from his family, and his constant travels, he has no close relationships and is actively terrified of getting to know people lest they turn on him -- or vanish.

Religious Views
Kevan follows several of the gods -- Kallias, Sephira, Fodla, Lucetius, Athesne -- but his closest tie is to Elowyn, goddess of rebirth and redemption. Whether he consciously realizes it or not, he longs for redemption for himself for the failings he feels he's committed in his life.
