Caelus, God of War (KAY-luss)
The Grand Marshal, The Victorious, The Stalwart Shield
Portfolio
Caelus is the god of war, tactics, soldiers, and defense. He does not represent the beauty and honor of imagined battle, but the blood and gore of true conflict Caelus views the law as an absolute necessity. Without it, in his view, bloodshed would be even more rampant Caelus knows that battle can be used for both good and evil, but that it itself is merely a tool to be wieldedDepiction
Caelus is depicted as a human, hobgoblin, or bugbear man in full plate mail armor, his face often hidden behind a helmet. He carries a tower shield and a large sword. Caelus is a stoic god, concerned with survival. He does not glorify or glamorize conflict; it is a terrible and yet necessary thing. War is a tool that can be used for good or ill, but he knows that in conflict, there are no true winners. Despite his seemingly callous nature, he cares deeply for soldiers and veterans, and is said to gather up those fallen in battle to his realm where they may rest.Relationships
Caelus is the brother of Rhemnys and Barasios, the husband of Fodla, and the father of Eriu and Lucetius Caelus does not have close ties with many deities, save for his wife and daughter. He is stoic and quiet, watching the affairs of the other deities with disinterest while he sees to his work.Symbols
