Alexandra Alkestis

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Alexandra has some small magical abilities, which she mostly uses in her professional work

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Not much is known about Alexandra’s past. She makes no secret that she originally lived in Montaigne, and moved to Eisen after her rite of majority to join the Confidante’s Guild. She inherited the House of Scarlet Silk when her Master in the guild, Master Damiano Sutek, was murdered after a dice game gone wrong. In his will, he left the House and its wealth to Alexandra in the hopes that she would continue to run it well and care for the other workers there. Even though she is only a journeyer, she was permitted to keep the House and has turned it into one of the most popular brothels in Novandria.

Gender Identity

Female (She/Her)

Education

As a youth, she was taught a standard education at the local schoolhouse in her village. Upon joining the Confidante’s Guild, she underwent a full guild-approved apprenticeship.

Employment

Alexandra is responsible for the welfare and operation of the House of Scarlet Silk, which includes managing the everyday functions, training apprentices, helping arrange clients for the younger journeyers, and organizing social functions there. She also takes clients of her own, which can lead her to entertaining from the House or accompanying a client on a social outing.   Although only a journeyer in the guild, she is a very popular Confidante, and it is rare that a night passes without at least a request for her company. She has brought the House of Scarlet Silk into one of the most respected Houses within Novandria.

Morality & Philosophy

Alexandra is a caretaker, both of those under her employ and her clients. She tries deeply to help those in need of comfort and kindness. She abhors bullies, the whorephobic, and anyone who would dare harm an innocent.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Alexandra is motivated by keeping the House running well, taking care of those in her employ, and achieving her Mastery in the Confidante’s Guild

Likes & Dislikes

Alexandra is a creature of comfort. Good food, good wine, soft fabrics, sparkling treasures, luxurious baths -- all of these are pleasures she indulges in often. While she can rough it, she prefers not to.   She loves to entertain and socialize, whether at the House of Scarlet Silk, on the arm of a client, or even out on her own for a trip to the opera or burlesque.   She is a skilled performer both vocally and with the harp, and she can sometimes be convinced to perform one of her dances involving flaming ropes or torches. She enjoys calligraphy and sewing, and loves to see artwork that other people have created.   Alexandra is also an incredibly sexual being. As a member of the Confidante's Guild, she has been trained in a wide variety of sexual practices: domination, submission, bondage, sadism, and is familiar and comfortable with many kinks. She is deeply sensual and enjoys pampering people with baths, hair brushings, massage, and the like. She has no gender preferences and has had clients of multiple genders, races, and sexualities.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Whatever family Alexandra has remaining, she does not speak of them. Her family, such as it is, is made of the apprentices and journeyers under her employ. She does not have many close friends, but she does have professional and social contacts galore through her work.

Religious Views

Alexandra is polytheistic, paying homage to Peitho, Athesne, Fodla, Lucetius, Nicodemus, Sephira, and Steyfano

Social Aptitude

Alexandra is quite adept at social graces, with a perfectly poised demeanor in almost any social situation. She is an expert at etiquette, flirting, conversation, and is skilled at keeping an event functioning well.

Hobbies & Pets

Alexandra is fond of reading, writing, sewing, shopping, and engaging in all manner of social events. Her rooms at the House are also home to a lazy puggon called Fortunato, a fluffy ragdoll cat named Chiffon, and a coyote named Sylvester

Speech

Alexandra speaks with a deep, soft, calm voice, nearly a purr, unless she gets agitated, in which case her Montaigne accent becomes more prominent and her speech gets faster

Wealth & Financial state

Between her inheritance and her popularity as a Confidante, Alexandra is incredibly wealthy, although she does not flaunt it. She is not nobility, but many of her clients are, and she spends most of her time with the upper and upper-middle classes.

Perfect

The confidantes of the House of Scarlet Silk were worried.   She'd never outwardly show it, of course, but they knew her well enough to see that something was not right with the mistress of the house today. Alexandra went about her duties, teaching her apprentices, making sure the House's daily affairs were in order, and though she smiled.... it was in the set of her posture, a little straighter than normal. The slower, more precise pronunciation of her words. The way she walked through the House, making sure that there was not a pillow out of place. She spent no time at the Market today, no work in the kitchen.   No, today Alexandra was the Rose Sanguine in all of her perfect, beautiful, precise glory, and the other confidantes... were worried.   After all, she hadn't been quite this bad since before Master Damiano died.   --------------------------------   Sleep did not come to her tonight. In truth, she didn't really try.   She could have dealt with most of it. None of it was pleasant, far from it, but she knew she was strong of heart when it mattered. She had people to take care of, a House to run, a job to do, and she loved all of it. She loved her House and her confidantes, more than her own life, perhaps.   Maybe that was why--   "Again, Alexandra." A crack of riding crop nearby nearly made her jump, but she held herself perfectly, pouring the tea without a single tremor of her hands. "That's better. Now, the wine." This time, a single drop strayed down the side of the goblet, and she winced. The riding crop lifted her chin, and she stared up into the cold, smiling gaze of her Master.   "I'm sorry, Master, I--"   The riding crop lashed out suddenly, striking her journeyer-sibling Tabiethe across the knuckles. The younger confidante cried out. "You know better, Alexandra," Damiano said, still smiling, still cold.   Alexandra hurried to pour another glass, careful this time not to spill a drop. "No, look, I've got it, I promise, please don't hurt her. Please. I'm sorry."   He grabbed her by her crimson hair, tilting her head back, the riding crop resting against her throat. "You know better. And you will be better. You have so much potential, Alexandra. It would be such a shame to waste it. Do not disappoint me. Now, again."   Alex's eyes snapped open with a strangled sob. She had to try harder. She couldn't let the House be taken away from her. She had too many people depending on her, and if she had to be perfect, then perfect she would be.   It had taken her years to step out of Damiano's shadow after his death, but some ghosts never truly stop haunting.
