Pliyca (Plee-E-CA)

Structure

The country has a hierarchy intertwined with the government but not the economic system. At the top of the Country is the King who is the leader of the entire country. The rest of the Hierarchy goes as listed;
  1. Queen
  2. Lords and Ladies of the States
  3. Princes and Princesses
  4. Lords and Ladies of the Cities
  5. Peasantry
  6. Bastards
  7. Slaves
  8. Both bastards and slaves are uncommon in the country, but used to be more prevalent in earlier times.

Culture

Art and Entertainment: Playan citizens are huge fans of poetry and theatre. Poems tend to be long, rhyming stories with a lyrical element to them. Free verse poems are another common type of poetry, but the subject of free verse tend to be romance and love. Plays are performed in large theatres which can only be found in the capital cities of the states and the capital city of the country. The largest theatre in Pliyca is right beside the royal palace. It is the place where the most famous and talented Playan actors perform. People around the world wish to be able to perform in that theatre as a successful actor, but only five people in the history of Playan theatre have been foreign actors at the royal theatre. Out of those five, four of them were Arenese neighbors. Books are very popular as well, but most books are used as education instead of entertainment. Books about history are a selling out genre, and science books are second to it.    Architecture:   The architecture style is a mix between neoclassical and Palladian architecture. Columns on government buildings are common, and tend to be paired with domes as roofs with paintings of deities and angels. In cities streets have stone brick roads. Regular buildings are more like Palladian architecture.    Ethics:   Playan people hold value in wisdom, strong magic abilities, strength, and heroics. Education is deemed very important in Pliyca, most living in cities have a formal education. The nobles and royals attend the royal academy in Readingia. The citizens respect the political figures that display wisdom and intelligence. Another important thing is the ability to do magic, which in Pliyca is taught to only (a few rare cases differ) the royals and nobles. The stronger the magic the more respect the people have for the user. Strength and heroics are important as well, they are tied into each other. Playan people have a high capacity for empathy due to their religious beliefs. Heroes are deemed as something everyone wants to be.    Gender Equality/Roles:   There are not any strict gender roles, and this is odd compared to other nations. This is the case because their are two major religions in the country, one where a woman is the deity and the other where a man is the deity. Both deities have respect from the whole nation, creating this sense of equality. But, women, especially in political power, tend to be used as a pawn in marriages. Women often are married to men with higher status, riches, or something else that can help the women and her family. Women are valued because when they're married the family is always benefited. Men often carry a families legacy, and tend to be stuck in their families situation.    Fashion and Dress:   The common folk wear cotton dresses, and tunics. The politically in power and rich have their own fashion rules. The men wear crops top to show off their muscles in an attempt to demonstrate strength without violence. They are often sleeveless as well, but some men wear them with sleeves. The women wear dresses that are tight around the waist and hips, but loosen out on the floor like a mermaid tail. The shoulders tend to be out, but in alternate style is a long sleeves with a turtle neck.

Military

The states each have a separate military force, the size and strength varies by state.  The ranking of military strength is as listed:
  1. The Capital State
  2. Qeka
  3. Zreley
  4. Asomery
  5. Cloit
  6. Vlane
  7. Astrea
  8. Vincard
The Capital State is the only military force with a large navy, but the other do have a few boats made for military purposes.

Foreign Relations

Pliyca is indifferent to all nations expect for one, Arenland (a bordering nation). While being an extremely powerful nation, the country tends to pay no mind to other nations, and does not need any resources they do not already have. While the princess of Pliyca is married to the King of West Fokeven the relation has not changed much other than a treaty.

Arenland

Pliyca and Arenland have a history that attributes to their close relationship. Due to a series of marriages, and treaties the nations have vowed to never attack the other and to always defend the other against foreign relations or rebellion. Currently, the King of Pliyca (Alvin) and the King of Arenland (Argus) were best friends during boarding school, and would never harm the other. Their people represent the same relationship, the borders have loose rules and the people are constantly intertwining in marriages, trade and education.

Education

The peasantry in Pliyca have schools in the cities. Most children attend them and it is encouraged by the government to send your children in school. In schools children learn history, literature, and biology. Some students continue school...
