Session 5 Recap
General Summary
TBD raids the base of Irena's Favored and finds a good amount of loot as well as an update on the location of the meeting of Rikter. The meeting will occur at Putcastle Pond at noon the following day. The party makes their way through the dark (despite getting briefly lost). Arriving at the meeting spot an hour early, Egon sets up a cover for the team, allowing them a good vantage point for all the action. The four are able to watch as the meeting goes down between the leader of Irena's Favored, Zaine Evilian with the mysterious Rave Dupree. The group attempted to remain stealthy, but Nefrea was spotted by one of the thief's scouts. This lead to an altercation in which the thieves were defeated and the group was left to deal with Rave.
Rave quickly triggered some kind of mind control effect, which brought Rikter under his control. Acting quickly, TBD was able to overwhelm him (though he was able to place a strange mark on Elenna). Before his death, Rave referred to Nefrea as a "conduit" and mentioned Kalasis, a deity none of them had heard of before. Killing Rave reverted the effects on Rikter, and the party managed to get him to cover before his flames could be doused. Egon built a cart and the party split up, with Eiros running to retrieve Zachariah. Sadly, upon arrival he discovered that Zachariah's throat had been slit with a note placed on his body that simply said "never trust a thief" in thieves cant.
The four reconvened at the city gates just as the storm was beginning to reach its peak and dusk was breaking. The party manages to fool Rikter into believing that Zachariah was still alive, and they manage to get to the lighthouse in time to fix it. Turning on the light, they manage to avert a large ship, The Imperial Magistrate, from crashing into the rocky harbor. Once everything was settled, Rikter again inquired to the whereabouts of Zachariah, prompting Elenna to somberly tell him that Zachariah had died in the caves where they left him. Angered by this, Rikter hurled a fireball straight at Elenna.
Rewards Granted
Level 3 to all characters , a shield, several bolts, and a pistol for Egon. The party also obtained a large amount of gold from the thieves' hideout.
Missions/Quests Completed
The mission to restore the Silvercove Lighthouse was completed.
