Session 10 Recap
General Summary
Session 10 begins right where session 9 left off, with TBD running towards the marketplace of Oldwatch. A rumbling had just occurred and the group felt great unease. Out of the mist walked one of the Apostles of Calamity, an ice mage named Glacius. He greeted the group and inquired briefly about their intentions before focusing his attention on Nefrea and expressing keen interest in her. To the rest of the group, Glacius offered them a chance to "walk away" and leave the cult to its own devices.
In response to this offer, TBD promptly geared up for combat as they were swiftly ambushed by several members of the cult, one of whom turned out to be a brainwashed Admus Rex. As the fight began to turn towards the group favor, an Allip suddenly appeared and joined the fight to the surprise of both sides. It had been unknowingly called by Elenna, as the knowledge she had gained during her dream was certainly not something she was supposed to remember.
In a moment of confusion, Elenna lost focus on the fight and found herself the target of the cult's signature spell, the mark of calamity. Glacius then promptly fired off a fourth level ice knife at the dazed warlock in an attempt to finish her. When all seemed lost, Elenna fought through the memory and awakened a new power from within her sword Arcturus: The Purple-Flame Blade spell. Using this, Elenna was able to lessen the impact of Glacius' attack and finish off the overconfident ice mage once and for all.
Elyon Denar continued to engage the Allip in solo combat, and despite some impressive skills on her part, she still took quite the beating. When Eiros went down fighting Admus Rex, Elyon broke away to help him, which gave the Allip the perfect time to go for its true target: Elenna. The fight continued on a knife's edge until Egon's trusted dog Talos managed to destroy the Allip once and for all.
After the fight, the group dragged the unconscious Admus back to the The Running Bow Inn. Before they all headed inside, Elyon pulled Eiros aside to discuss something he had overheard during the fight: her true identity as Lady Tirel Arden, The Queen of The Aryan Isles. Revealing that she also was aware of Eiros' true identity, the two reached a deal to keep the information a secret from the rest.
Inside, the group commissioned Letara to probe the depths of Admus' mind to garner information regarding his activities within the cult. Just as she was finishing up, there was a knock on the door.
