The Enfurnaced League of Orders

Overview

The Enfurnaced League consists of five (known) Orders, it is a mixture of Lawful Evil and Lawful Neutral Orders, each with it's own agenda but all agreeing on the main tenets of domination. These five are officially the five wind-lord based Orders in the League, however there are at least four other Sub-Orders of Monks - some VERY few in number- making for a total of nine orders.

Order Objectives and Pursuits

To achieve a political and military presence in the world that allows for domination of entire countries. Ultimately to elevate humans to the dominant position as masters of all other races.

Known Activities

To facilitate their plans for domination, the Enfurnaced have strong links with the Caliphate of Aubayd, and often gain members from that part of the world. The organisation has sought to increase its reach into Atlantis itself, and has a strong anti-elven and anti-dwarven campaign that it wages in an ongoing fashion. They will often gather slaves together for the Caliphate - seeing that the personal liberties of those who fight against unity of purpose should be taken, until the individuals understand through their work that their futures lie with the Enfurnaced. Indeed many slaves later become Monks of the Order to gain their freedom, only to find themselves in an even worse fate.

Symbol

The League is represented by a magical summoning circle half dedicated to cold/ice and the other to heat/fire. Each order is symbolised by a single circle within the summoning circle and each is connected in some way with the others - yet each performing a key task in completing the circle and summoning the World that they seek. The Notosian Order stands at the centre as it is the 'face' of the whole league and its network.

All monks and assassins are branded on the neck with the Triple Fire Brand - this brand is said to denote the three main peaks of Stromboli Island and the core in the middle is said to represent the wind-lords themselves fanning the flames of change.

Transorganisational Symbol

None - their main symbol is already Transorganisational in nature.

Bonus Non Weapon Proficiencies

All monks of the Order gain a variety of NWP - this is dependent on the exact League that is being dealt with.

Member Orders

Cold Orders (Blue Orders)

The Order of the Notos Wind

This is the main order - and really the 'face' of the league. The Notosians also seek to tone down some of their more extreme member groups - and some masters of the other systems have 'disappeared' as a result. The Notosians move forward steadily with their objective of governing the world in some way.

North Northwest Order of Thrascias (LE) & the North Northeast Order of Messes (LE)

Together these are known as the Nor-nors, a pair of orders that attracts the most psychopathic individuals known to still live. The Nor-Nors are seeking the freeze the world - their goal is Arctic Domination and the desire to move through the whole world on ice bladed skates. They seek to perfect their ability to withstand the cold - and train in the most inhospitable territories of the Continent - causing problems for local communities who do not share their viewpoint.

Hot Orders (Red Orders)

Order of the Wind Lord Phoenician (LN)

The Order of the Wind Lord Phoenicians (φοινικίας) is the wind of all sounds. These monks seek to master knowledge and articulate it in sound. Therefore they seek to master the use of the voice in all it's forms. This makes them very articulate  - the most articulate of monks. They also seek to help their wind lord by mastering knowledge gathering methods.

The Leuconotos Order of Fire (LE)

The Leukonotos Order is an order that seeks is the 'Bright waters' of the south west, and is noted for his "sky-clearing" wind, The Leuknotosians focus on keeping the sky clear - this strange perspective results in increased climbing, jumping and leaping skills focusing on being able to strike flying targets and remove missiles from the air - making them an ideal system for learning .

Non-Windlord Focused Member Orders

Red Non-wind Orders

Monks of the Forge (LN)

These monks seek to forge not just metal, but themselves, often developing new types of weapons and armor to augment their abilities. They seek to master metal and are seen pounding on the metal with their fists. Those that succeed in this style are said to be able to heat it at will and even be able to ignore it's effects in some fights.

Monks of the Sands (LE )

Distantly based in the Slaver Lands as enforcers of the Caliphate of Aubayd.

Blue Non-wind Orders

Monks of Stone (LE)

Rumored to be Monks based in the mountains of the Dwarves and even possessing some dwarven monks - seeking dominance of the Underworld.

The Order of the Unseen Monks (LN)

This is classified as a Blue non-fire based Monastic order but no one is very sure - it is thought to be focused exclusively on Assassination.

Founding Document

Rumors abound of founding documents for each of the Orders, some were agreements forged together by secret enclaves, some were contracts made with Devils and Daemons, others were simply secret Bills of Rights that changed into something more sinister. In all cases the documents outline three principles:

1. The maintaining of order is paramount when ruling.

2. Only those of particular traits may rule - this can include social standing, race or intelligence.

3. The achievement of 1 and 2 can be achieved given enough time and the right dedication.

Document of Enrollment

Every Monk and Assassin of the member guilds must sign a contract with the Order. This is the infamous Contractus Magistri Notosian (The Notosian Masters Contract).
