Ogham Runes and Malachim Script
Overview
There are two sacred Scripts used by Apollo and Artemis based Druids, and the Druids of Demeter. The Apollonian Druids (and some Clerics of Apollo) use the Malachim Script. This is also variously known as the Celestial Script or Apollonian Scrybum.The Artemis-based druids use both the Ogham Runes and the Malachim Script in spell casting.
Whereas the Druids of Demeter use only the Ogham Runes.
Usage Tools
The runes or letters are inscribed by the Druid on the item to be affected using a Moonshard Quill.
Spell Casting Affected by Moonshard Quill/Stylus Use
As the Druid gains power the impact of their spells on the physical items they seek to affect becomes stronger. So even a first level spell gains in power when cast by a higher level caster - as such the caster must be more careful in how they cast the spells. The Druids have solved this problem with the use of a Moonshard Quill - using it as a part of their casting ritual from the fifth level and above.The spells affected include those that affect physical objects, such as Shiellagh, Barkskin, Fire Seeds or even Plant door - the druid as a part their casting must etch or write the runes gently into the substance being used. A Moonshard Quill must be carried by each Druid from level 5 onwards for this purpose.
Malachim Divination and Oracle Use
The Malachim or Celestial Script can be used to perform divinations and gain Oracles when written onto leaves of laurel and pieces of yellow paper and then held in golden cloth they are cast as lots - the results provide the divination. To gain this skill the Cleric must choose Omen and Oracle Interpretation as a Non-weapon Proficiency and travel to learn the Kliromanteion Divination method from Delphi itself.Ogham Rune Divination and Oracle Use
The Ogham Runes can also be used to perform divinations and gain Oracles when written onto objects and cast for insight. To gain this skill the Druid (or Cleric) must choose Omen and Oracle Interpretation as a Non-weapon Proficiency and select Ogham Runes as an Oracular Divination method.Note that at 9th level this Omen/Oracle method becomes applicable on living forests - the Druid can choose to read an oracle based on the types of trees encountered in the forest they are walking.
