Languages of the Lost

Overview

The Languages of the Lost are the languages spoken by those who should not be in Atlantis - but who have appeared either on purpose or through no fault of their own. They are lost in space, and in some cases lost in time as well.

Therefore, this grouping of languages is not present among the Language Tree as they are considered stand-alone languages derived from different times, planes, parallel levels of existence, and alternate worlds that can at times impact on the world through the effects of the Chronic Aberration effect, and through Gate and Portal Spells allowing for a more frequent and random cross-over from those settings.

In summary the languages may be learnable in the long run - or through finding Sages or Oracles who have taken intense interest in these different species if a character so desperately seeks to learn a language of the lost.

It should be appreciated that nexus points - such as the Atlantis Royal Library have acted as a gateway source for new information communicated in foreign languages and formats. All of these new languages and scripts are far too diverse to be covered here. So even further options exist for those characters seeking to explore the rarest of knowledge - that which comes from other times and places.
