Zaban'Qa
The Zabak are a primitive lizardfolk that originate in the southern wilds of nabare. The collection of many of their tribes are collectively known as the Zaban’Qa or “Teeth of the Loam”, though they share little more than a language. Most Zabak reside in small, tight-knit bands that roam their forest and desert territories. Individually, the Zabak are fierce and sturdy fighters that are often well-adapted to survive harsh climates. Yet, even after thousands of years, the Zabak have struggled to combine into any larger civilization. They have no large cities, no governments or kings, and no common currency. +
Any decent amount of time spent among the Zabak will quickly show a culture of simple, aesticic living. To their clutch and comrades, the Zabak are loyal and courage in defending them, though they lack some of the more nurturing qualities of their northern kin. To their enemies, they are cold, calculating, and ruthless. Outsiders often find that subtly is wasted on the Zabak, and attempts at cleverness are just as likely to make you dinner, as opposed to being invited to dinner.
There are some Zabak who are disaffected enough to leave the familiarity of the clutch. Such individuals either leave due to an insatiable curiosity and obsession, suffer some debilitating weakness or injury, or else develop too many enemies - most usually have some mixture of all three. For these individuals that don’t retreat into solitude, some manage to find a niche among the Imasi while others often find service as warriors and trackers in service to the Anyaku.
