Blackwing Company

A mercenary organization based in Algar. Their sign is a black raven on a red banner. The leader, Medarin Andis, is a celebrated war hero and former member of the Svanesse Royal Army. The troops themselves are a bit cautious of their leader, having had him recently overtake the role from a more circumspect leader. Currently, the company is contracted to several nobles, with standing forces held in reserve.
The blackwing company is known for underhanded tactics and a ruthless reputation. Using guerilla tactics, dishonorable tricks, and outright terror, such as burning villages and fields, the blackwing company is only barely tolerated by the authorities due to certain personal relationships, and even more gruesome foes. The average troop is decked out in flowing red robes over leather or chainmail, and commonly use scimitars, though more recently they have acquired the new bolter hardware that has developed in svain.
