Malgazar, the Lord of Annihilation

Origin:

Malgazar was born in the heart of the Void, forged from the raw entropy left behind after the shaping of Terra. He was not created by a god, but emerged from the unraveling seams of existence itself. A being of endless hunger and violent purpose, Malgazar embodies the concept of unmaking—wherever creation dared to bloom, he sought its decay. From his earliest moments, he existed as a counterbalance to life and order, thriving in chaos and collapse.

Before the War:

Long before the Great War, Malgazar roamed the forgotten edges of reality, tearing apart proto-realms and consuming failed godlings. He rarely interfered directly with Terra, watching as the gods forged the world with indifference. But as life flourished and civilizations spread, his hunger sharpened. He began whispering ruin into the minds of mortals and Demons alike, seeding conflict and rebellion. His dominion became one of scorched lands, shattered mountains, and collapsing stars—places where his name was feared but never spoken.

During the Great War:

When the Great War erupted between the forces of The Divine and the demonic, Malgazar descended upon Terra like a falling star of death. He led armies of twisted abominations, beings warped by annihilative magic and mindless destruction. Unlike other Demon Lords who schemed or conquered, Malgazar sought only to erase—nations, gods, ideas. It was during this war that he encountered a mortal blessed by radiant divine power. In their final battle, her sword—blessed by a radiant god and burning like the sun—pierced Malgazar’s heart. The impact obliterated the surrounding battlefield and consumed his form in cleansing fire. His death was unlike the others—permanent, absolute.

After the War:

Malgazar’s annihilation left a scar on the world: a wasteland where nothing grows and even magic falters. His followers, known as the Ashbound, became scattered cults bent on resurrecting his essence. Though he is believed truly dead, some scholars fear that entropy cannot be slain—only delayed. Echoes of Malgazar’s presence still linger in nightmares, and certain forbidden rituals hint at the possibility of his return from the nothingness he once ruled.

The Current Era:

In the modern age, Malgazar’s legend is taught as a warning against unchecked destruction. His name is rarely uttered outside of cursed tomes or mad cultic rites. Yet, across the distant reaches of ruined lands, the Ashbound still carve his sigil into stone, their chants calling to a god who no longer exists—or waits patiently for reality to crack once more.
