Chapter 7: Mission Impossible

May we bask in the light of the Holy Sunstone

General Summary

Now with their licenses in hand, the party has the ability to ascend to the upper city and speak to the mage Fumblemore. They take a few moments to bask in the heat of the rising sun as well as gawk at the beautiful architecture and breathtaking views. Reaching Fumblemore’s tower, Kay- Ron and Razor decide to inspect his library and take a few books of interest. Soon they meet the "wise" wizard who seems to be a senile old man, but he does speak of a cure for Edward "Old' Peculiar. The most important aspect being the Holy Sunstone. Luna knows that the stone resides in the hands of Father Braeburn in the Church of the Holy Sunstone. They attempt to steal it from the Father, but their stealth is below average and this gets them caught. However, instead of turning them into the guards, he offers them a trade, the Sunstone for a rare dark gem in the possession of Skylord Jasper. After some detective work done by Sabrina, the party locates the home of the Skylord. With Sabrina keeping watch downstairs, the rest of the party sneaks up as they find a beaten Bard playing a tune for Jasper. Some very lucky rolls later the group finds themselves on the third floor of the house staring at the Violet gemstone atop a marble plinth. Kay-Ron steals the stone and everyone makes their break for the church, as Jasper realizes his prized possession has been stolen. Sabrina is able to use Feather Fall and allows the party to jump from the third story balcony. Father Braeburn is enraptured as he is given the gemstone. The torches turn to shadow as his eyes turn a dark hue of violet and he begins to laugh maniacally. The party promptly leaves and with the sunstone in their possession, make their way to the mad wizard’s tower.
