Her Holiness Sylana Petria XIV (born Liane Ravarian on 5th of Elvera, 15,011) is the leader of the Syldevrina Church, the Bishop of Soldram, and as leader of the church also the sovreign of The Holy Nation of Syl'araz. She is the first Pontifex to have been a member of the Holy Inquisition and the first Soldram citizen to be allowed in the office after the Soldram Heresy. She was a popular candidate for the position of Pontifex among the Council of Archbishops because of her ruthless, some say psychopathic, pursecution of the Soldram Heretics which included her own family, it is for this reason she was allowed to become Pontifex.

Born in Soldram City the capital of the Dutchy of Soldram in north Syl'araz. Liane was the first born of a set of twins to Duchess Sabrina Ravarian and her husband Niklos Ravarian. Every family rich, poor, commoner, or nobility in the nation are required to pay Goddess' Tithe by having one or more of their children join Church of Syldevrina. Liane was thus raised with a heavy focus on religious education, unlike her twin who was groomed for one day becoming the next Duchess.

In 15,011 at the age of 10 the time came for her to join the church. For the young child it was a bitter sweet moment, while her family was not pefect she did miss them from the moment she stepped into the carriage that was going to be taking her to the Soldram Abbey. She was ordained to priesthood in 15,026 by Archbishop Pell Adrina and eventually become Abbess in 15,039. She became the Bishop of Soldram in 15,082.

Liane moved to Ca'lidria the capitol of Syl'araz in 15,157 when she was assigned to the Inquisition as Inquisitor by Pontifex Medria ven Elria during the Solai Rebelion. She served in many wars both domestic and foreign over the years and was apointed Grand Inquisitor in 15,286 following the end of the Benjara War.

At the outbreak of the Soldram Heresy where the entire Dutchy of Soldram not only declared independance but also branded Syldevrina a false god swearing fielty to Vendrik, the God of War and Death. A quorum of the Church's most senior clergy was called to meet with the Pontifex, Liane among them. After being attacked verbally and almsot physically for being related to teh family that started the rebelion Liane denounced her family and demanded she be the one to end the heretics, including her own family. So it came to be she prosecuted a brutal nineteen year long war on her own family and people.

Following the passing of Pontifex Medria ven Elria on 06th of Veldis, 15,351, a conclave elected Liane Ravarian as her successor on the 31st of Meryum, 15,351. She chose the name Sylana Petria after Saint Sylana Petria becoming Sylana Petria XIV. Liane has been noted for her humility, compassion, stern but just application of religious and secular law, commitment to the wellbeing of the laity especially the poor and less fortunate.

Robes

Sylana Petria's holy vestments exude an aura of sacred elegance, befitting her respected role within the Church. Her attire blends the the striking and passionate colour of red with the purity of white and the solemnity of black. The black panels of the robe are adorned with exquisite silver and gold embroidery that draws heavy inspiration from sacred hymns, scripture, and celestial motifs.

Battle Plate

During her time in the Inquisition Liane took to wearing the simple armor worn by her fellow soldiers rather than the more ornate plate worn by the knights and members of the nobility. This armor is composed more of leather than it is metal plates and allows for a higher degree of mobility while sacrifycing a degree of protection. The clothes worn below the armor always have been a bright flaming red and a deep solumn black, the probary colours of the Inquisition.

Baptismal Mace of the Night Mother

The weapon combines a massive bludgeoning head with a reservoir of liquid, which can include: holy water, various caustic fluids or even flamable fluids. Upon impact the fluid is released dousing the target. If the tank is filled with a flamable substance, a magical igniter is added to the ports to set the liquid aflame with each stike.

Am'shara is a small, but adult, tiger that Sylana rescued from an abusive owner who was using the creature in cruel magical experiments. After taking her back to the abbey and a long time of working to gain her trust the small creature finally came out of her shell.

Now Sylana and Am'shara are utterly inseparable and she follows the Pontifex around almost anywhere. Am'shara can often be seen carrying messages for her owner using her ability to teleport short distances to do so quickly. Am'shara has basically become the mascot of Sylana's rule.

Frosthowler Fur Cloak

The cloak was gifted to Sylana during the Benjara War after the liberation of the Frosthowler Keep. As commander of the inquisitorial platoon that liberated the keep she was presented with the cloak and was made a honorary member of their fellowship by Helga Wulfblood.

The cloak is made in accordance with the ancient Frosthowler custom of Companion Memorialization from the pelt of a Snow Wolf by the name of Lestria one of Helga's own wolf companions who tragically passed away defending Helga. The fur is a striking mix of white and black and the top part of the skull rests on the shoulder like a makeshift pauldron.
