Axiom, also known as the Metaplane of Order and Unity, is a realm dedicated to discipline, societal structure, and the greater good. It is a place where the individual is subsumed into a collective purpose, and where rationality and altruism take precedence over personal desires and emotions. The plane of Pandemonium is its direct opposite, and most dire foe.

Metaplanar Geography

The landscape of Axiom is characterized by rigid, geometrical forms and an emphasis on symmetry. Towering crystalline spires stretch into the sky, connected by pristine, perfectly straight pathways. In the distance, one can see a vast, ordered expanse of fields, cities, and fortresses, each meticulously planned and built to serve a specific function within the greater scheme of the plane.
The skies above Axiom are filled with radiant light, illuminating the plane in a warm, golden glow. The air is crisp and clean, devoid of any impurities, and time seems to flow in a precise, unerring manner. The plane's overall atmosphere is one of harmony and order, with every aspect of its existence adhering to an unseen but unyielding set of rules.

Denizens of Axiom

Axiom is inhabited by angels, archons, and other celestial beings dedicated to the principles of order and altruism. These beings work tirelessly to maintain the harmony and structure of their realm, as well as to carry out their missions on the Material Plane. They are powerful, disciplined, and unwavering in their conviction, often appearing as awe-inspiring warriors, scholars, or leaders.
The angels of Axiom are known for their radiant beauty, with wings that seem to shimmer in the light, and their eyes often hold a deep, otherworldly wisdom. Archons, on the other hand, are typically depicted as humanoid beings with animal features, such as the heads of lions, eagles, or bulls. Both types of beings possess extraordinary powers, and their presence is often a sign of great importance or a harbinger of significant change.

Effect on the Material Plane

Within Axion's Manifest Zones, the virtues of order and discipline become paramount, and the inhabitants are often compelled to adhere to a strict societal structure, with a clear hierarchy and set of laws.
In these zones, magic that promotes order and unity is strengthened, while chaotic and individualistic magic is dampened or nullified. Furthermore, beings aligned with Axiom may find it easier to cross over into the Material Plane, often leading to an increased presence of celestial beings and their influence on the mortal world.
For those who live in these Manifest Zones, life can be both a blessing and a curse. The order and harmony brought about by Axiom's influence can create a stable, prosperous society, but the relentless suppression of individual desires and emotions can grind away at the individual, slowly turning them to but a cog in the whole.
Managing Desire

Although desire is thought of as a hindrance by the denizens of Axiom, they are not blind to the reality of its existence. Ensuring the desires of mortals may be met efficiently is seen as a good first step on the road to full integration. Within territories under Axiom control, a few individuals might be selected as sacrifices to the desires of others--willing or otherwise--and put to work to ensure as few distractions as possible remain to upset the careful order of the rest of society. Outwardly the places where these chosen few are put to work might look as orderly and prim as any other place under Axiom influence, but the reality of the lives these individuals lead might make even a demon of Pandemonium blush.
