Varenth River

The Varenth is the great river of the west, winding from the highlands beyond Lake Mordain down through the borderlands of Othvarand, before emptying into the distant sea. Its waters are slow and deep, its banks wide and often misted, feeding both the fields and the folk of the principality.

Lined with towns, watchtowers, and crumbling shrines, the Varenth is a lifeline - and a quiet divider. Traders, pilgrims, and patrols follow its course, while smugglers and fugitives vanish into its bends. Crodeux rises along its banks, built both for war and water, its harbor bustling with barges and riverboats.

Some say the river remembers. In flood years, it gives back lost relics and bones. In drought, it reveals things best left buried.
