Republic of Similaun
Since ancient times, Similaun has been an area of great flourishing resources and a reputation as a country of infamous sovereign rulers. Before its conquest by the Latonan Empire, it was known as Corinum and was renowned for its mines, which had high quantities of high-quality steel and precious metals. This factor attracted the conquerors of the Latonan Empire as they began to colonize the area, which had gained both technological and scientific innovation despite many of the people in Corinum being enslaved. The region was then renamed Bondivinum by the Latonan Empire, as many settlers came to the area, including the Aenir.
Following the advent of the Great Holy War, Bondivinum suffered massive infighting and invasion from other nations, once part of the Latonan Empire. One particular nation was Varangia, which plunged vast amounts of Bondivinum’s wealth into continuing its war against its gods and itself. The Aenir, the leading ethnic group of Varangia, soon became divided following the death of their rulers and settled vastly into the area that made up Bondivinum and eventually Drukalsteim.
This vast military culture in Bondivinum allowed the inhabitants to survive the arrival of the forces of Sheol and Abaddon in the region. They vastly utilized the magics given to them by the long-lost giants to win great uphill battles against the forces of Hell and eventually gained their independence from the various conquerors of the area, renaming the area Similaun. Soon after its founding, Bondivinum had accepted the newly found Universal Church, the first nation on the face of Tenebra to do so.
Their so-called independence from conquerors did not last, as many people from Koschevoy settled and conquered the areas around Bondivinum. In a tight-knit situation, Simuluan was offered to join the Holy People’s Reich, or Reichsland, when the Fuhrer came to the area, which was loosely tied with one another through tribal alliances and being trampled upon by Koschevoy, which was then a monarch. The Fuhrer offered safety, weaponry, and a nation to call their home so long as they pledged their loyalty to the Fuhrer and his Reich. The sovereign rulers of the areas surrounding Similaun agreed and crowned a half-elf king of the Simuluan people, Rudolf Hasgurb.
Unfortunately for many, the Hasburg dynasty came with the culture it originated from: Hyl’dora and the High Elves. Incestuous marriage practices, with few intermarriages, continued for hundreds of years, as deformities became more pronounced. The bankers of Similaun were called 13 times to pay for correcting monstrous mutations in children by paying Hyl’doran alchemists.
Despite the grand corruption of familial ties, Similaun had become renowned for its rich architecture, scientific advancement, and artistic prowess. The rich culture of Similaun served as an emblem of what the Reich had to offer to the world in terms of advancements and progress in a grand empire united against the forces of Hell. This factor gave them great praise and prestige from the Führer as the years passed around Similaun.
By the time the Second Great Holy War broke out, many became infuriated at their monarch's disgusting acts, but they had little means of rebelling due to the Reich's might. However, that changed as the war began. Now, the Reich had become more divided than ever, allowing the people of Similaun to rebel against their dynastical rulers and the Reich. This allowed the people of Similaun to eventually gain their independence after the end of the Second Great Holy, but not before being introduced to kommunism from their temporary occupiers of Koschevoy, with many Koschevoyans choosing to inhabit the areas sturrounding Similaun.
The people of Similaun chose to be part of the new Federal Republic of Reichsland, as they chose various representatives from their democratic and kommunist parties. This representative democratization lasted more than 60 years until the Abbadonian War started and ended with the destruction of the central government of Reichsland. Now cut off without a central government, Simlaun declared its independence within weeks after the collapse of Reichsland as a democratic republic.
Combined with its allegiance to its newly reformed former federal republic and Koschevoy, Similaun is an emblem of what other nations can become following prolonged periods of peace and prosperity. Despite its internal conflicting politics, many call for unification with Koschevoy, the rise of kommunism in the country, or reunification with Reichsland.

Demography and Population
Despite being mainly settled by dwarves and humans, Similaun has a large population of elves and those of elvish ancestry who aid in the artistic endeavors that make up its demographics. There is a small, but growing, population of beastfolk following the destruction of labor camps in Simlaun after the destruction of the Reich as an empire. There is also a relatively small population of Yadan, or tiefling, amongst the populace, both due to yadan settling in the area and the appalling acts of demons during the various wars against the forces of Hell. The population of Similadun is estimated to be around 51.4 million people.
Military
Similaun relies upon the various volunteers for its military fighting force, which it reinforces with its vast, high-quality metals, materials, and genetic manipulation. Though it was initially hesitant to engage in high amounts of genetic enhancement on their volunteer military force, vast quantities of volunteers were more than willing to undergo the torment of the changes to their bodily functions. This was due to the religious fervor of the Masters of the Aether, other members of the Pantheon of the Black Star, and patriotism to protect their beloved fatherland.
Technological Level
Because of its healthy economy and scientific advancements, which have allowed for the discovery of the hominid genome, Similaun has stayed ahead of various nations in terms of scientific advancement. They remain vastly behind in robotics and weaponry compared to Svariki, but they remain ahead of every other nation besides Varangia in terms of bio-genetic scientific discovery.
Religion
Almost every member of the Pantheon of the Black Star is worshipped in equal measure in Similaun, but some are worshipped more than others. Because of the patriotic sentiments and the rise of kommunism, Mina and the Masters of the Aether are worshipped above all other members of the Pantheon in all cities of Similaun.
Foreign Relations
Because of the bipartisan divide in its parliament, Similaun has contentious but strong relations between both Reichsland and Koschevoy. It gives weapons, soldiers, and arms to its past occupiers to reinforce Similaun against the monolithic forces of Hell in Abaddon. It has little trust for Boudigia due to its historical lack of support for those fighting back against the forces of Abaddon and infighting.
Agriculture & Industry
Similaun is renowned for its vast and healthy farmlands, grand wheat harvests, and beer culture. Many countries desire it for its agricultural imports, which help sustain the countries around it. The area also attracts a large amount of tourism due to its vast agricultural industry and Nudensfest, a large beer fest celebrated countrywide in the month following the fall solstice.
Foreign nations also rely upon Similaun for its vast quantities of steel, precious metals, and materials. A fact that made them desirable for conquest in the past, but makes them vastly rich currently.

Trade & Transport
Similaun aided the Coalition of Nations project to create an intercontinental railroad system that connects each nation in Kenor with each other, despite border disputes. This has allowed large quantities of wheat, steel, and precious metals to be imported to its neighbors.
