Othur

In the time before history, the Othur had lived in the elemental chaos known as the Strife. These lands beyond the borders of the six elemental planes are the original battleground between the Fey of the Wyldwood and the Fell of the Ruinscape.   As with all the elemental planes, there are paths that lead from the Ruinscape and the Wyldwood to the material plane, and through those places, the fey and the fell have exerted influence over Temnia. Through those pathways also came the Othur.   There are three branches of the Othur family. The Urdak, who are the subjects of the Fey, the Cherak, bound to thralldom of the Fell and the Hultzak, who broke themselves free of the struggle.

Cherakoth

Commonly known as goblinoids, the Cherekoth originally hail from the Ruinscape.   Desctructive, savage, driven to consume and dominate, goblins are mostly powered by physical strength (or strength of numbers), though do have some access to blood magic. They thrive by the consumption of sapient flesh. By cannibalising themselves (or better yet unwitting weaker races) and with the aid of fell rituals, base goblins are able to transform into bugbears, hobgoblins, ogres and eventually into fell powers made flesh: Oni.   Cherakoth are not particularly intelligent, but they are canny and adaptive. Cherakoth bands and tribes can be found in almost any habitable climate on Temnia, and sometimes even on those that most though inhabitable.

Urdakoth

Commonly known as fairyfolk, the Urdakoth came to Temnia from the Wyldwood.   Capricous, flightly, and a bit alien, neblins are pathological in their desire to experience joy. Occasionally callous, but rarely vindictive, neblins almost never mean to do any harm, but when they do... nothing of remorse is felt. Neblins can manipulate a primordial magical energy known as the myst, which is considered by many to be the raw, unrefined source of magic. Utilizing mystic rituals, and some form of emotional stockpile, neblins can transform into Skaram, Urda and into the mystic manifestation known as Kami.   Urdakoth have neither as numerous or imposing as the Cherekoth, but they have great magical power, and utilize it effectively to defend and sequester themselves, and either befuddle dispatch those who would seek to do them harm.

Hultzakoth

The Hultzakoth's origin is murky, though they are connected to the war between the Fey and Fell, and to the Urdak and Cherak peoples. Hulzakoth could be rightly called trolls, though the name has only stuck to the massive ugly giant form they take.   By ways and for reasons lost in the fog of time, the Hultzakoth managed to sunder their connected nature, creating three peoples who are capable of propogating themselves as seperate species.   The smallest of the Hultzakoth are the Sprigin, commonly known as Gnomes. Bolgren are quite large, and live in the highland mountains of the Karrak Kingdom. Trolls the the largest of the Hultzakoth. Troll
