Oshu

Oshu, revered as the "Guiding Prefect," is the largest of the nine main islands of Sendon, situated in the southern region of the archipelago. Strategically located between the vast Eternal Expanse and the serene Zenith Sea, Oshu boasts impressive natural features, including Moonshine Lake, the largest lake in Sendon, and Mount Subarashī, the archipelago's highest peak. The majestic Kaito River, a serpentine waterway, flows through the heart of Oshu, supporting a diverse array of aquatic life.

As the capital of Sendon, Miyako is nestled on the island of Oshu. This imperial seat is home to the revered imperial family, who have long protected Sendon's rich traditions and magical heritage. Miyako is famous for the iconic Yuan Tower, a majestic landmark showcasing Sendon's architectural ingenuity and craftsmanship. Within Miyako lies the grand Imperial Palace, the residence of the Emperor, exemplifying Sendon's architectural style and grandeur.

Oshu is also home to several sacred and mysterious sites. The Moonshine Lake Shrine, dedicated to the spiritual significance of Moonshine Lake, features beautiful gardens and intricate carvings. The Subarashī Mountains' Ancient Ruins offer a glimpse into Sendon's mysterious past, with ancient structures hidden within the highest mountain range.

The island's diverse landscape is inhabited by unique and fascinating species. Throughout Oshu, the current Fuangan era is marked by a proliferation of castle towns, with approximately 250 scattered across the island, and an estimated 10,000 rural villages. However, this blessing of prosperity has become an unforeseen curse, as Oshu has become the hotbed of the Onin War, a conflict that threatens to destabilize the entire region.

As the conflict escalates, many brave individuals embark on pilgrimages to local temples, seeking guidance, protection, and peace from the revered Jade Court. Desperation for a return to tranquility drives some to seek solace in the promises of foreign missionaries, who preach that hope and peace can be found by abandoning their ancestral beliefs and devoting themselves to the Trinity. The allure of a peaceful existence proves irresistible to some, leading them to question their long-held faith and consider embracing a new, unfamiliar creed.

Only time will reveal whether Oshu and Sendon will weather the turmoil of internal conflict, steadfastly upholding their cherished traditions, or succumb to the forces of change, relinquishing control and risking the erasure of their rich history.
