Endurance

Endurance
Cyndi rubbed her tired eyes, gazing wearily at the clock before releasing a deep sigh. Only fifteen minutes had ticked by since she'd last checked. "Just three more hours," she murmured, her joints cracking softly in protest.

The Endurance Attribute represents your character's overall vitality, encompassing their health, stamina, and resilience.

In practical terms, Endurance affects your character's ability to:

  • Determine their overall health and stamina score
  • With stand extreme temperatures and environments
  • Resist or mitigate the effects of poison and disease

This attribute plays a crucial role in determining your character's fortitude and ability to withstand the challenges they'll face.

Vigor & Vitality

Stamina and Health are multifaceted attributes, influenced by a combination of factors. However, Endurance stands out as the most critical component, serving as the foundation for both concepts.

Calculating Stamina and Health:

  • Stamina: (Endurance + Stamina Bonus) × Total Level
  • Health: (Endurance + Health Bonus) × Total Level

Stamina is used for powering your Disciplines and certain feats and abilities. Health is used to determine how long your standing in combat, how much damage you can take before you fall.

Resistance

In situations where physical force or manipulation is at play, the Brawn save becomes a vital test of your character's physical resilience and determination. When the Director calls for a Endurance save, your character must rely on their fortitude and natural toughness to:

  • Resisting the effects of a poison or disease.
  • Withstanding a spell that inflicts damage or a debilitating condition

The margin by which your character succeeds or fails in their save determines the extent of the consequences.Critical successes and failures, as mentioned, will be explored in Chapter X, along with optional rules for additional effects. These rules will provide Directors with the flexibility to add layers of complexity and excitement to the game, rewarding players for exceptional performances or imposing harsher penalties for catastrophic failures.
