Banshee

The Banshees were once mortal women of virtue and inner light. Their downfall began when they were deceived by loved ones who were promised eternal beauty, power, or wealth in exchange for their lives. A demon with a mastery of manipulation, wove a web of deceit, preying on the loved ones' desires and vulnerabilities. They were led to believe that the cost of their desires was worth the sacrifice, after all they weren't condemning themselves to a life of eternal torment.

The demon's twisted bargain came with a horrific condition: the loved ones were forced to take their own loved one's life, sealing the deal and condemning their soul to the depths of Guanex, a realm of darkness and torment.

As the life was extinguished, the victim's soul was torn from their body, sent plummeting into the abyss, where it would be transformed by the darkness into a vengeful Banshee spirit. The demon, reveling in the chaos, claimed the soul as its own, adding to its twisted collection of tormented spirits.

The Banshees resemble a gaunt form of their former selves, their pale blue skin giving off an eerie glow. Their eyes, plucked from their sockets, are now black voids forever weeping ichor and tears.

In Guanex, the Banshees are considered a grand prize and a symbol of status. Because they died with their virtue and purity intact, they retain a tether to the divine, granting them the gifts of prophecy and future sight. This connection to the divine makes them highly valued in the realm of Guanex.

Banshees have know only sorrow and betrayal, long gone are the pleasant memories they once had in their lives. They serve and search through divination pools to get information, items, or other potential souls their master may desire.
