Wanderers on the Wind

A colorful and curious tribe of Tabaxi, forced onto the Plane Flats several generations ago by the encroaching barbarians of the warlike Kingdom of Cotnor. They were, ancestrally, from the gentle slopes of Mount Toppick, with their largest den quite near the snowline, just outside a cave that is rumored to contain vast networks of rare ores and veins of minerals and precious metals. The cave is the original 'den' of the Wanderers; it is a huge part of their salvation story, traditionally where the very few of their kind to survive some sort of disastrous, world-changing event took shelter and emerged from generations later.   The vast majority of the historical scriptures ascribed to the surviving tribes is spread throughout a series of caves and tunnels winding and wending their way through the scant openings and naturally occuring channels that lead deeper into the mountain, always somehow towards it's heart.   It's existence alone is only a legend, but within the surviving tribes, the folklore looms large. The climb to the heart of the mountain, a theme in song, dance, and story, is (supposedly) nearly impossible to accomplish. It is also traditionally the only place their original stories and scripts are recorded, on the walls of the warren of caves!   Pictographs, masterfully rendered in ochre upon the raw stone of the twisting tunnels, so close in some places one would have to squeeze through for dozens of feet at a time, tell a winding, free associated story unlike a religious script, per se, but more like the real salvation of an entire people. It must have taken generations to finally complete, but once it was, the caves were quickly abandoned as living facilities, as the warm sunlight had returned above, and the air was clear again, and slowly the knowledge and wisdom imparted upon the walls became lost to the ravages of time.

The survivors of a global catastrophe, who banded together for physical, spiritual, and emotional support.

Disbandment

No one knows what has happened to them. Most people think they have been completely wiped out, and assimilated into nearby tribes or human settlements.
