Pyramid Scheme Report Report in Tellus | World Anvil

Pyramid Scheme Report

General Summary

After a beautiful, stress-free morning cooking eggs and/or bacon, our heroes gathered together behind a stack of salvaged crates. Stevie nearby with his nose buried in a book as always, they held a moot to assert their next moves. Their immediate concern became glaringly apparent, however, as a T Rex walked casually into their camp, grabbed up one of their shipmates (by the name of Parker), and fled into the jungle with his lunch. Our heroes, hoping against hope that Parker yet lived, took chase through the thick, harsh vegetation, taking deer trails or fragments of abandoned road as they ran down their prey...only to find bits of Parker (his left arm, to be precise) strewn about an old brick roadway of some sort. This understandably slowed them down to a stop as they conferred, once again, as to their next stratagem. Deciding (understandably) that Parker was done for, our band of banditos turned their attention, once more, to the 'big pyramid'; an immense hill cloaked in dense jungle vegetation that rose above the tree line to their east. They set carefully out.       The terrain became more and more difficult as they sloshed their way through increasingly wet lands. Coming upon a bridge cobbled together with wooden planks, leather cords, and what looked like kiwi-flavored bubble gum, they began to cross. That was when they saw the crocodile. Gigantic, and not in the 'hey Earl, that's a biggun'!' way, the monstrosity streaked through the water towards them, intent on its prey. Discovering it had bitten off more than it could chew just prior to its timely demise, our crocodile croaked, and our heroes began to cross the rickety bridge yet again. Reacting to a prickling sensation along the back of his neck that he most often got when something was about to try to shoot him with something, Tror's eyes snapped to the little isle in the middle of the little, lily pad-strewn pond and immediately discerned another fell, gigantic creature. This time, terrifyingly, it was a frog.  ribbit.   After only a few exchanges of arms, our heroes became aware of 3' tall, frog-like humanoids converging upon them from either side of the massive amphibian, which turned out to be akin to the bullywugs' attack dog. Dispatching their enemies in short order, the party made camp for the night on the tiny isle amid the lily pads.  Awaking refreshed and renewed, our heroes took council with each other, again, as they prepared to break their fast, when they suddenly noticed the boy, Stevie, was gone! Frantic, they searched the area, finding his precious leathern bound journal and notes lying open upon the ground. Upon investigation, our perplexed paragons discovered a hand drawn map Stevie had obviously been working feverishly on. It even looked to scale. Another, stranger map was also discovered, an oddly realistic one, as if someone had captured an actual moment and committed it to paper.
