Personal history
They have been married for thirteen years. The Lord makes most of his money as a 'slum lord'. He has been able to significantly upgrade the living conditions in the neighborhoods he inherited from his father. They are (in fact) new-ish construction, as the entire city had been ransacked one hundred and fifty years previously.
Karl was born a noble, while Sephina and Trudy married into the positions. While to some that may denote a life of leisure and excess, the two women work hard for the people they represent to the King.
