The Chancellor of the Exchequer is a The High Kingdom official that is located in every town, city, village, hamlet, berg, and permanent camp within the The Unified Kingdoms of Craysilt. The position is always held by a gaunt, severe looking man with a penchant for black suits, white shirts, black ties, slicked back hair, and round spectacles. It is these men who pay out for services done to the kingdom, collect taxes and other payments from the township or city they have been assigned to, and are in possession of the township or city's incorporation paperwork, and the CDXLGS. They serve as the facilitator and judge of the HCT, and have no sense of humor that they are aware of. They are also, somehow, in constant touch with the The High King's Seat, and have the authority to call for military forces to put down insurrections or the like on those rare occurrences. So far, they have only ever happened in the Kingdom of Cotnor .
