Redfell
Ruled by dragons and men alike, this diverse city is the capital Kysnscore and the center of its politics, leadership, culture and production. It is one of only two major cities in the country in which it stands in. Founded thousands of years ago, the mountain it was carved into has all but vanished, leaving a city that seems to stand a thousand feet tall, blending seamlessly into the mountains next to it. There are six major layers in the city, known as standings, each with a different major purpose.
Standings
Delegate's Standing
Also known as the Precipice, this standing is the location where The Delegation meets within the city. The layer consists of only a single, massive chamber which is generally inaccessible to the public.
Notable Locations: Delegation Chamber
Dragon's Standing
The Dragon's Standing, the fifth layer of Redfell, is used as a meeting place for the dragons of Kysnscore. Away from the lairs of any dragons (aside from a few exceptions in and nearby the city), it is considered a neutral ground for the more territorial of dragons. Small folk rarely visit this area, as their presence is usually unwanted by most of the dragons. Compared to the rest of the city, this standing is comparatively empty, and the open space is often negotiated for use for various events when the space within the city may be needed.
Notable Locations:
Noble's Standing
The Noble's Standing is the fourth tier of Redfell, where the wealthier and more influential members of Teldir take residence. Held within this standing are other various high-priced amenities generally unavailable to the public below.
Notable Locations:
Trader's Standing
The Trader's Standing is the third standing of Redfell. A large market snakes through the tunnels of the layer, and a park forms a ring around the standing where its greenery can be reached by the sun.
Notable Locations: Yesterday's Bastion
People's Standing
Above the Craftsman's Standing is the People's Standing, used as a residential area for the common folk. The area grows more slum-like the further inward one goes, with the homes of finer appearance standing at the outward edge of the city to keep up a wealthy appearance.
Notable Locations:
Craftsman's Standing
The first and lowest standing of Redfell is the Craftsman's Standing, the home of the working class of Redfell, holding various shops where people apply their trade as well as storehouses where most of the City's resources are stored. Most of the major roads leading into Redfell enter at the Craftsman's Standing, allowing goods to easily flow in and out of the city.
Notable Locations:
The Beneath
The Beneath lies below the People's standing, underneath the surface of the earth. Run by members of The Kingdom of the Beneath, much of Teldir's underworld business is done here. The beneath also has the most diverse distribution of wealth, from the poorest of the poor to wealthy underground merchants residing in its sprawling tunnels.
Notable Locations:
Demographics
Humanity holds the slight majority over the other races, although dwarves hold a close second, with the other major races not far behind. A small number of the population are also full-blooded dragons.
Government
Redfell is run by a delegation of dragons and humanoid races who collaborate on the governance of the city and country.
Defences
Walls circle around the southern edge of the city where it borders with the plains, otherwise it is well-protected by mountains on the remaining sides. The city's infrastructure makes the upper layers easily defensible against large forces from the bottom due to their elevation and difficulty of access.
Industry & Trade
Redfell is supported primarily on refinement of various imported raw goods from the surrounding areas, and also makes a large portion of their money harvesting stone, precious metals, and gemstones.
Guilds and Factions
Yesterday's Bastion is built in Redfell, making The Curators quite a common sight in the city. Syrika's Liberators have a decent standing in the city as well, despite their headquarters being stationed elsewhere.
Architecture
The city is quite literally carved out of a mountain, a combination of hundreds of years of sculpting with steel and magic. Homes and other buildings are shaped from the mountain's stone as well, wood only used in its structure very rarely.
Geography
The city is surrounded by mountains to the north, south, and west, although the eastern edge of the city is bordered by rocky grasslands.
Natural Resources
Abundant precious metals and gems are mined out of the various tunnels sprouting from the city. Several quarries are also based not far from the city.
