Syrika's Liberators
Syrika's Liberators are a group of people devoted to freeing the enslaved, helping the oppressed, and combating the slavers and oppressors. Its namesake comes from Syrika, who started the uprising of refugees against the Tyrants of the Hills in the countryside of Kysnscore. Despite their seemingly noble cause, this faction has a rather polarizing impact. Many abuse their membership among their ranks as an excuse to commit crimes and exploit others for personal gain. There still are morally good people within the guild, however, who will fight tyrants of any kind and free those unlucky enough to be caught in chains of any sort.
Structure
Although she has long been deceased, the Liberators consider Syrika to still be at the head of the organization, although a small number of people known as "Syrika's Heart" are the technical leaders of the guild. A larger group known as "Syrika's Hands" are the leaders of the smaller groups of the guild in various other areas.
Public Agenda
The Liberators are built upon the simple idea of freeing the wrongly enslaved or incarcerated, although the term "wrongly" has grown more and more gray through the years. Its initial and most well-known goal is the liberation of slaves.
Assets
Syrika's Liberators has the largest number of fighting individuals in its ranks, making it the strongest martial guild in Teldir.
History
Syrika was the daughter of a pair of blacksmiths in Kjull. It was said she fled to Kysnscore after her home in the sewers of Kjull was destroyed, and she was enslaved by a noble family who held a portion of her soul, one of the many Tyrants of the Hills at the time. She was enlisted to assist in building the family's countryside estate, her skills as a smith put to use. The family barely fed them or provide them with shelter, forcing them to hunt and forage for food in the night and sleep without protection from the elements. After weeks of grueling work and near starvation, Syrika decided to rebel. What started as small things such as simple strikes escalated into more violent revolts, until Syrika was imprisoned in the manor's smithy and was forced to forge her own chains.
Months later, Syrika broke out of the forge. According to the legend she pulled the chains out of their foundations and fought against the guards and anyone else who stood against her with those very chains. She made her way to the lord of the estate and forced him to free the slaves of their contracts. Though the slaves were freed, Syrika disappeared, and many of the survivors formed Syrika's Liberators in her honor.
