The Fourteen Organization in Telarul | World Anvil

The Fourteen

The pantheon of gods that are active since the the Rebirth. Like mortals, the gods are not all-good or all-evil. Each god oversees all aspects of their domain: the good, the bad, and everything in between.   Each month of The Common Calendar is associated with one of the gods.

The Accord of the Fourteen

The Fourteen are in principle omnipotent. However, they have agreed to follow a set of rules set down in the Accord of the Fourteen. This to prevent a re-occurence of the millenia of chaos that happened, and were subsequently erased from the timeline, just after they came into being.   Mere mortals do not know the exact rules as written in the Accord. Religious scholars are trying to piece together the rules from observed actions, as well as pieces of information dropped by one god or the other. Currently the following rules are suspected to be written in the accords:
  • Upon signing the Accords, the planes will be returned to the state they were in just before the gods came into being.
  • Every god shall take upon them the governance of specific domains. (how exactly the responsibilities were decided is unknown)
  • Within their domain gods shall function within the laws of nature as layed down by The One. Most likely to prevent any god from changing the functioning of their domain in order to take over that of another god.
  • Outside of their domain, gods may only influence the world by convincing other beings to do their bidding. They may empower these beings, but how, and by how much, is also governed by some as of yet unknown rules.
  • Gods may create additional planes as they see fit, and can do whatever they want in them. Other gods are not allowed to interfere in these planes, unless invited.
