The art of taking a pile of inanimate gears, sprockets and other components, and building something that, to the layman, acts as if it is alive. These signs of live can range from the construction moving about on it's own, or being immobile but capable of answering questions, to simply requiring a pilot but being extremely livelike in appearance.
Gnomes tend get introduced to the techniques of gearomency very early on in life. Using toys like Rifguro to build their first contraptions.
