Durim

Durim is a god of industry, seemingly driven to inspire those under his banner to consume and construct anything and everything, at all costs. His most ardent followers claim that he merely seeks the betterment of mortal-kind through 'progress', though their definitions of what progress actually means vary to the point of frequent conflict.   Primarily a human deity, he ascended to prominence only around a century ago, and has steadily grown his influence as the people of Stirge have expanded further and further into the wild reaches of their homeland. His guidance can be blamed for a great deal of clear-cutting and destructive mining practices that have taken place in recent generations, much of which have stressed or outright broken ancient treaties with local voron and leshen populations.

Early Life

In his life before Ascension, Durim was a capitalist and land baron. Lesser-known, and often one to put the impact of his developments over their efficiency or scale, his name and influence on the mortal scale has been all but lost to history. He carried his ruthless pursuit of acquisition with him into his divine self, along with an ironic hatred of magic that had originally spurred on much of his investment into technological fields in the first place. Now essentially one with magic, he still seeks to limit its influence on the mortal plane, considering the power he rarely offers to those who share his goals a necessary evil in the development of true, mortal strength. More often, he guides through a combination of zealous charisma and shows of power through a material avatar, personally leading charges into untapped sources of raw materials. Or, as most other people call it, 'nature'.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Over the decades, as his grasp on his mortal mindset has become weaker and his top-down view of the world has become more influenced by his divinity, Durim's goals have shifted away from a sole focus on the development of mortalkind and towards a perverse desire for the collection and cataloguing of rare materials. Not for any purpose, but simply to be able to say they're his.   Though his followers have their own interpretations of the reasonings behind his method and use the things they make from the materials he guides them to collect as justification for his and their actions, things are rarely so complex. He sees something that could be used for something, he determines that it is his entire reason for being to personally oversee the collection of that thing. No matter its religious or ecological importance, all is second to 'progress' and the endless march of industry.
