Almas Peak

The Almas Peak is the highest mountain within the Impatient Peaks mountain range in the North of Teel. It is made of pure diamond and causes some fascinating optical effects when it is hit by light.   The area is unreachable for mortals and even the Undying fear to climb the mountain because the environment is dangerous and full of crevices where miners can get stuck.

1. Geography

The Almas Peak has a smooth surface with millions of rough cracks that range from a few centimeters to several hundred meters in width. So far, the deepest scaled crevice measures more than 1000 meters. The temperatures are freezing all year, cups of water freeze over within seconds when they are held in the air, even at the lowest point of the Peak. Strangely enough, the temperature seems to get milder in the higher regions of the mountain. Ancient Juru  miners swear that they felt warmth come out of the unbreakable ground on this mountain, but this assertion could not be verified yet.

2. Flora and Fauna

Biologists from Teel agree that it is very unlikely for any plant or animal to survive for long in this harsh environment. Some villagers in Mizar and in smaller settlements in the far North make up adventurous tales about the noises that come from the mountain, but it is more likely that the noises are the product of wind blowing pipe-like through the crevices.

3. Utilization

The Almas Peak was the source for the first official currency in Teel (Splinters), before the Juru stopped mining the resource due to security concerns. After Turan and Tire disappeared            A mountain made of diamond in the north of Niflheim.
  • emits a mysterious glow (greenish-blue, lights up the sky at night)
  • impassable for mere mortals
  • diamond shards are mined here
  • some dark Juru stories are about poor Undyings who got trapped in unbreakable crevasses and still wait for help
