Drummond says Palace communications have received more than 30,000 pieces of mail for me since Saturday, most of it came either yesterday or today. It still seems best to stay out of the public eye until we can make the official announcement. In the meantime, the Mall has been covered with Pride regalia. It's very beautiful.
There are the occasional protesters but I'm not at all concerned, as I think in some way I expected them. More than I ever did the wild rallying of support. There was one right wing group who called upon Grandpapa to "de-legitimize" me and remove me from succession. It resulted in the only statement from the Palace. It simply read:
"The private lives of our family are just that - private. Wild speculation does a disservice to everyone, speculator included. However, regardless of what is fact and what is speculation, the Royal Family will not be bullied by a very small albeit loud group of people with hearts of hatred. -William R."
I was actually rather moved by Grandpapa's statement. Rory has stayed here until things quiet down. In the meantime, Drummond has managed to get the Aquatics Center secured a few time until the announcement.
In other news, that body from the Thames has been ruled a double homicide! The poor woman was pregnant. I was stunned but Rory said that he expects it. makes me worry about what about what I'm missing, what I don't know.
I made dinner for Rory. I was very excited to get to do something like that for him. Except the fact I've been lied to. Apparently, I'm not actually cooking. I'm "reheating."
