HRH Entry about Anne's 12th Birthday

HRH describes his sister's birthday at Balmoral.

15 August Saturday   I am so confused. My sister is weird. Okay so. Today is Annie's twelfth birthday and we decided to have a really nice supper for her with games after. Grandpapa tried to get her to go stalking with him. He had to know she was going to say no. The weather was super gross so he ended up going out on his own. He didn't get anything but he definitely seemed to have had a great time, even if he was soaked to the bone from the rain. Gan said it's a miracle he didn't catch his death.   Anyway! after the parlor games most people started to head off in different directions to figure out what to do with the rest of the evening. I think there must be a boy Milton likes because even he took off to his room to call someone. That left me and Annie in the Red Drawing Room. She started aksing me questions about Milton. Asking if I had talked to him about him being gay. I told her if she wanted to know something she should ask the person she wants to know about. And then she smiled and asked if Milton was my boyfriend. I told her no after I started choking. I almost cried. I tried really hard not to be super obvious. She waited for me to calm down a bit before she said "you're really not dating Milton? When I told her no agains she said "But you are-gay." She didn't even ask. She was so certain. I just nodded. I couldn't argue with her.   "You just game me the best birthday gift ever," and then she launched herself at me and hugged me. I don't know how she knows so much so young.   I really love her.
