George VII names Sebastian 'Prince of Wales.'

The day after the Abdication of William VI and accession of George VII, Sebastian, now heir apparent, was created Prince of Wales by his father. Controversy regarding the title became a topic of public debate in Wales. By 17th of September, a petition calling for the end of the title had revieved over 10,000 signatures, while a YouGov poll showed 74% of Welsh citizens supported Prince Sebastian's inheritance of the title, compared to 18% opposed. On 30th October, Senedd Llywydd Bethan Davies noted that and investiture ceremony was not a constitutional requirement but suggested that while unnecessary, Wales might fing an investiture to be a sign of the Prince's devotion to Wales.
