The Beginning of the First Era

The point in time when Tarroc was created, organized into what it is from the original four elements that made up the Material Plane.

During the time of Chaos, before Tarroc existed, the Material Plane was merely a disarrayed mess of water, earth, fire, and air. Elemental beings roamed freely, warring with each other, thriving amidst the insanity. The gods had not yet come to the Material Plane yet, content to live in their own domain, whether that be the Astral Sea, the Nine Hells, or the Abyss. Eventually, however, they grew bored of their existence, and decided to put the Material Plane to use as a realm for their worshipers to live in. The gods Bahamut, Ioun, Silvanus, Amaunator, Gond, and Waukeen wished for Tarroc to be a peaceful place, where species would live in harmony and enjoy a beautiful world. The gods Talos, Tiamat, Lolth, and Vulcan, however, envisioned a hellish Tarroc, whose inhabitants would be forced to pray to them, lest they wish to be destroyed.   For millennia, the gods warred over whose vision Tarroc should follow, creating thousands of different creatures to assault one another with in what became known as the God Wars. Humans were created by Silvanus. Elves and Dwarves by Gond. Tiamat created Dragons to fight for her, and Lolth created spiders. The wars were futile. Thousands of years passed and neither side had shown even the slightest hint of slowing down. But what neither side had noticed during all of their fighting was the creation of a new deity, borne out of the hatred that each side had for the other.   Thus Grumbar, the god of Balance and the Earth, was created. His birth halted the war in its tracks, as he enlisted the help of the elementals native to the Material Plane to fend off both sides from overtaking it. As the dust settled, Grumbar declared that Tarroc should follow neither vision, and would instead exist somewhere in between. He separated the elements, creating the four elemental planes, and in the center of them was Tarroc - a world not entirely peaceful or beautiful, but not a hellish one either. Grumbar was looked upon in all of this as a savior to the elementals who originally inhabited the chaos, as they could at last cease warring with each other and live peacefully amongst themselves. To this day, Grumbar acts as the mediator of the gods, settling conflicts wherever they may occur.
