Purpose
The Book of Lost Souls was scribed by Pacifex the Cruel, one of Orcus's generals during his reign, as ordered by the Demon Lord himself. It is a recorded history of Orcus's life, from the moment of his creation leading up until his conquering of Tarroc. It was meant to serve as propaganda to sway people to his side.

The book is 837 pages long, and is divided into 26 chapters. Each chapter details a different great achievement of the Unholy One's life, with the last 2 chapters concerning his conquest of Tarroc.
Publication Status
Almost every nation has banned the sale and production of this book; the only places in which it is still allowed are Loquintia, The Birglass Islands, and I'iawah.
Historical Details
History
The book was first published during The Rule of Orcus over Tarroc, as a propaganda tool, although Pacifex had begun writing it long before Orcus and his forces even breached the surface of Tarroc.
Public Reaction
Generally, the book was shunned and destroyed by people who saw Orcus as a ruthless dictator and false prophet. However, some were quick to join his side, founding the Cult of Orcus and fighting on his behalf.
Legacy
Most have opted to forget the cruelties that the Unholy One brought on the world, although he still has some followers around the world, who anxiously await his return and refer the Book of Lost Souls as scripture.
