Treatise on the Nature of the Universe

Metaphyisical Treatise

When the great mage Kyzen Menthora published this work, few beyond the greatest arcane minds took notice. For starters, he invented the term "Universe" to describe something larger than the world of Tarien. Religious scholars had, of course, long reasoned that the angels, demons, and elementals conjurored via magic had to come from somewhere. Wizards knew that some place existed that allowed one to teleport from place to place in an instant or hide in what was, in the work, described as a subjugated or "pocket" dimension. No one, however, had put all of these pieces together into a coherent whole, complete with a map and a description of how one might travel from one of these verses to another.

And while few possessed the intellect and arcane background to understand the work at the time, the advent of the Mage Wars has reduced that number further. Not that it matters as all known copies of the work - perhaps four or five in total - were burned during those tumultuous times.
