Hopki River
Flowing north from Malta Ridge, the crystal blue waters of this river widen broadly as it crawls toward Hopki Bay. Famed for its purity the elders in Hopki fiercely protect it against pollution, using a combination of careful city planning and Tyloma's to keep its waters clean and bright. So pure is the river, and so slow is its inexorable march to the sea, that at dawn it is said that the river resembles a looking glass - smooth and reflecting the sunrise. It deepens as it approaches the city and its clear waters teem with life ranging from colorful fish to porpoises to the beds of coral that line its mouth, making any approach to the city by ship perilous during the day and hopeless under the cover of darkness.
