Until the past century, only one source of Adamantine had been found on Tarien and that source was sealed by the Khadra soon after its discovery. Understanding the unique properties of the metal, the Khadra took all of their remaining Adamantine supply and horded it, cutting off the rest Tarien from its use.

The discovery of Adamantine in Logan briefly opened up the rest of the market to the material. The mine, however, quickly ran dry. Compounding the scarcity problem is that Human smiths could do little with the material beyond plating platinum for currency. Enterprising Khadra agreed to work the material but only if they were paid in raw Adamantine, thereby increasing their own supplies while further shrinking the supply on the general market. Most such orders were taken with delivery timelines ranging from decades to centuries are still being fulfilled.

Tarien's Strongest Metal

Adamantine is dense and tough. Its armor is nearly impenetrable and its weapons more deadly than their steel counterparts. As such, when forged properly, armor made from Adamantine is extremely resistant to damage. When wearing Adamantine armor attacks that would result in a critical hit are treated as normal hits, instead.

This toughness allows blades to keener and materials denser. When wielding a melee weapon made from Adamantine, the user is granted a +1 on damage rolls.
