The Gilded Gyre Tavern

The Gilded Gyre is located near the docks of its coastal home in the Port town of Shorecrest. Given that it's flanked by the shipyards to west, the harbormaster's shanty to the east, the docks to the north, and the bank to the south, there is no shortage of coinage coming in to the owner's hands, making it the most popular social hub with not so much competition from the Captain's Cabin. While it was originally built as a tavern and inn, room and board is more than covered by both the Captain's Cabin and the Sailor's Stay which led to a slight renovation to the upstairs. The owner has, however, maintained guest rooms for those who are too intoxicated to much of anywhere else. as well as the personal guests of the owner.   The place tends to be lively with all kinds of raucous and boisterous customers. While most of the patrons of the Gilded Gyre are sailors who have only briefly come to shore, every once in a while a pirate can be found among the tables and tankards, recruiting for their crew, or (if they are particularly successful) their fleet.

Despite being out in the open, the Fireside is designed from the ground up to be a calm and relaxed place for those patrons that wish for peace and quiet. The entire area is magically soundproofed. No one from outside can hear what's happening inside, and vice versa, making it a very nice place to curl up by the fire with a good book!

A3. Game Table

The Game table is set up in the back corner of the tavern for those who like to play games. While games typically are not restricted to this table, wagers on the games are so that as many people as possible can participate in the game. Tavern Workers

Bjorsen Stonebeard

Bjorsen Stonebeard is the mountain dwarf that owns and runs the Gilded Gyre Tavern. Something that helps him stand out among the other dwarves is that Bjorsen stands a good half a foot taller than the average dwarven man. Is beard is a stone grey with streaks of black, and he top of his head is shaved. A rather friendly and boisterous individual, he will gladly join in any celebrations that are being held in his tavern. He is rather doting on his daughters and shows public displays of affection towards his wife without hesitation of any sort.

Yana Stonebeard

Yana is Bjorsen's Hill dwarf wife. Her fiery red hair and cool blue eyes matches her explosive temperament, which applies to all emotions. She is the kind of woman who will assault terrible patrons with her cast iron cauldron - if she can manage to lift it above her head. Like Bjorsen she can be rather friendly individual and often finds herself being protective over her daughters.

Freyla Stonebeard

Freyla is Bjorsen and Yana's eldest daughter. Just like her parents, Freyla is friendly and outgoing, and just like her mother Yana, she is also very protective of Awla. Looking at Frelya it is easy to say that she has got the best of both her parents. She is almost as tall as her father, just as boisterous, and she has the explosive emotions and beauty of her mother, right down to the red hair and blue eyes.

Awla

Awla is Bjorsen and Yana's adopted daughter. As a full-blooded orc, she finds it difficult to fit in with the family of dwarves despite the Stonebeards' affirmations and welcoming affections. As a result of her viewpoint she finds herself rather shy and easily flustered at the slightest compliment, no matter if they are from someone sober, or as drunk as a Wlamyri Swamp Eel. The only time her timid appearance fades away is when someone or something threatens her family. In which case instinct takes over and she fights to defend the tavern.

Tourism

If the Gilded Gyre demands any tourism at all, it's for the king crab cake and the beauty of the owners daughters.
