Velisar’s Sliding Plate Mail

A magical device that allows the user, once attuned, to use this thin metal backpack equipped with comfortable leather straps for defense. Once activated (A bonus Action ) the plates magically unfurl from the pack and cover the users body in the same way regular Plate mail armor does. AC 18. Once the user has finished their battle they can use another bonus action to retract the plates back into the pack. The pack fits easily underneath a cloak, shirt, or jacket.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Magically infused plates shift and move around the users body much like Iron Man armor.

Manufacturing process

A powerful paladin who studied as a wizard in his youth devoted years of his life to constructing this device.  The uncomfortable reality of wearing plater armor for a living became a real problem. Velisar decided to find a way to always have his armor ready and available at moments notice.  The results were spectacular and Velisar used his device for many years until his death in SF 2835.

Raw materials & Components

The thin pack is made of hundreds of dark metal plates, each plate etched with magical symbols that faintly shimmer in the sunlight.  Once activated the plates fold out over the shoulders belt and legs, some of the pieces expanding again to cover the chest and neck.  The plates once completely in place as armor around the body have a dark grey look, shimmering with lines and runes that connect in an intricate pattern.
