Mossback Elk
The mossback is a large species of Elk that is primarily found in the western regions of the Eigerlands. They are often hunted for their meat and thick hides. Their antlers are often used for knife handles, utensils, and scrimshaw.
The mossback is known for it’s green fuzzy backs, they have a bright green lichen that grows symbiotically on their backs. The lichen is passed on to the young feeding and sleeping. The lichen keeps insects off during the summer months and provides a source of nutrients and water during really dry seasons.
