Ijin Matsushige, Justin

Ijin Matsushige
Human male. Asian. Neutral Good. Rogue/Ronin
  1. In our game, there are 2 parallel worlds much like yours. There is the original Ijin (A), who hails from world 1, who is the main PC version of Ijin that I often play, and Ijin (B), who hails from world 2, a more NPC version. II will be playing B in your game (more about Ijin B later). 2. Ijin is a Ronin, or a wandering Samurai who no longer servers a lord, much like a knight errant . He is a hardened traveler and expert swordsman.
3. Ijin A, has long possessed a magical item, a Vestige of Divergence, one of many such Godly items that exist in the world of Exandria (critical role). His Vestige, a neutral evil sentient katana (that is more neutral than evil) is a vessel that holds a long-abolished betrayer god, and is one of 2 blades. His blade seeks a reunion with the second (its lover) and uses Ijin as a vessel to find it. The blade goes to great lengths to keep him alive and on this task, including preventing him from aging (mostly), subtle mind manipulation, keeping him alive on the brink of death or starvation, and most significantly, muddling distracting memories that don’t server the swords goals.
Due to the swords magic, Ijin A looks to be a man of 30 years, but in actuality is 87.
4. Important: Ijin A, long ago, once fled his kingdom and travelled the land with his young lord, Zeku. He served as his protector, all while seeking the second blade. A tragedy occurred (ill spare you the details, its complicated), and Ijin lost Zeku, as well as his memory of how he lost him. Ijin has spent the entirety of his long life, traveling in search of him, all the while his memories fading in and out, at odds with the desires of the blade he carries.
Ijin A, is unaware, that he in actuality, killed his young lord (again, it’s complicated), over 50 years ago.
5. Ijin A, at some point (in part due to the shenanigans of our BBG), committed what we call a Grand Act. By doing this grand act, he changed the course of fate so much, that it manifested
  an alternate, parallel world…World B.
In essence, Ijin A is the father of all the alternate beings of world B. However, World B is not a fun world…it is a war torn and sad mirrored version of world A.
  Ijin B
  1. Ijin B, whom I will be playing with your group, represents in all technicalities, a future version of Ijin (About 150 years old when you guys meet him). He is a time traveler (he uses gates created by our BBG) and is the leader of a group of time travelers, who are intent on correcting the many errors and anomalies that occurred due to the Grand Act, in an attempt to “correct   history” and bring about peace.
  2. IJin B is much more “attuned” to his blade than Ijin A is and has made a sort of pact with it. With this pact, the two have more of a mutually beneficial relationship, therefor, the weapon no longer muddles his thoughts or engages in mental suggestion, but still prolongs his life. Perhaps most importantly, the blade at one point agreed to return all of his past memories, revealing the “truth” about among other things, how long he has lived, and what really happened to his lord, Zeku. This reveal was very a traumatic and impactful moment and was a huge factor in how Ijin   B then decided to pursue life.
  3. This won’t make a huge difference to you, but the personalities of the 2 ijins are rather different. Ijin A, is somewhat rigid, headstrong, and heavily honor driven. Whereas IJin B is decidedly more   nonchalant, unreserved, and even jaded.
  Oh yeah…and just for funsies.
Ijin is technically an ancient gem “creator” dragon…like, fully a dragon…but he doesn’t know it

NOTES:
my homebrew Ronin Class, and key info layout for my character, Ijin. depending on how you see fit to introduce me, i may pick out a song to play in the background.
  Intro ideas:
I like the idea of a nonchalant, casual cool guy intro. Maybe i'm just kinda chillin on a windy ledge, big tree branch, or even just on the ground, drinking wine or smoking from my pipe.Ijin has no problem being in "exposing" scenarios, but it sometimes gets him in a bit of "trouble," meaning he keeps a very open demeanor as if to say, "danger is of no concern to me.
if you wanna go really edgy and immediately portray Ijin as a highly competent swordsman (which could be fun), you can have the heroes showing up to "rescue" me, as I'm casually cutting down a powerful foe, solo. The foe can be mid attack, and it goes down with a single flash of lightning speed.
Or whatever you want and suits the story haha!
A loose description of Ijin from a quick glance would be a "a weathered vagabond in black robes, wielding an elegant curved blade (if drawn)
