Hellenox

God of Night, Fertility, Music, The Large Moon, and Water
The Myth of Hellenox
Twin sisters, Hellenox and Vellenox, were born of the sun god Corsun and the god of nature Maka'lua'a.  The stories say that they were born on the moons or they became the two moons of Tanaheim.  The spoken word stories going back through antiquity differ depending on the continent in which they were told.  One of the popular stories tells of the sisters wandering through the sun gods fields at night and deciding to steal the cattle.  They proclaim that they want to give the cattle to mortals instead of the valuable beasts being saved just for the gods.  They are punished for this and turned into the twin moons for their punishment.
Another myth is the Breaking of the Velaklee.  A king in the very south of Ventenheim amassed an enormous amount of power and wealth and began to see himself an equal of the gods.  He proclaimed that he was going to banish night and rule everything during the day.  He proclaimed that when he accomplished this he would take the place of Hellenox at Corsun's side.  At the moment of his ritual it is said that the moons collided and rained down on his kingdom destroying it and him.  The result was the bone break islands on the south of Ventenheim.
The myth of the Ventenian Conflict -
When Vellenox stood in the Veiled Sanctum and refused to give Corsun spring (one of her domains is winter solstice) Maka'lua'a and Corsun rounded on her and threatened expulsion and death.  Vellenox stood firm asking for boons for mortals who walked down upon the earth itself "Give unto them wheat, give them fish in the seas to eat, give them mercy from the dragon gods who treat them as morsels."  The other gods turned their back on her, even her sister in an act that would divide the twins for all ages to follow.  Hellenox stood and turned her back as the gods cast Vellenox out of the sanctum and out into the world.

Accomplishments & Achievements

From the voyage of the hero Kres Thrim Ba- by the poet Givindrias
"There in the Veiled sanctum Vellenox encountered Lamborginus (Secrets, Sleep), the brother of Mankata (Cold, Death) . . . [Lamborginus addresses Vellenox :] ‘That time I laid to sleep the brain in Corsun of the sun and drifted upon him still and soft, but your mind was devising evil, and you raised along the sea the blasts of the racking winds, and on these swept him away to Penthos , the strong-founded, with all his friends lost, but Corsun awakened in anger and beat the gods up and down his house, looking beyond all others for me, and would have sunk me out of sight in the sea from the bright sky had not Hellenox (Night) who has power over gods and men rescued me. I reached her in my flight, and Corsun let be, though he was angry, in awe of doing anything to swift Hellenox displeasure.’"
